Patch Testing
Patch Testing
At Skin Ritual we take skin & hair care very seriously. For us, helping you with your problems remains our primary goal. We want to assure you that our products are safe, effective and have been designed by a team of experienced Australian healthcare professionals, however a patch test is recommended before you start using any of our products. Patch testing is essential to ensure that your Skin Ritual products are safe for use and to identify any potential skin reactions. Here are the steps for conducting a patch test:
Preparation:
Choose a small, discreet area of skin, such as the inside of your wrist or the inner elbow. Clean the area with mild soap and water, then pat it dry with a clean towel.
Product Application:
Apply a small amount of the product to the prepared area. Use a clean cotton swab or your fingertips to spread the product evenly over a small patch of skin.
Observation Period:
Leave the product on the skin for 15-20 minutes or a maximum of 30 minutes. Avoid washing the area or applying other products during this period. Do not cover the patch with a bandage or clothing that may cause friction.
Monitoring:
Check the test area periodically for any signs of irritation or allergic reactions, such as redness, itching, swelling, or blistering. If any adverse reactions occur, wash the area immediately with mild soap and water and discontinue use of the product.
Assessment:
After 30 minutes, carefully examine the test area for any changes. If there is no reaction, the product is likely safe for use on a larger area of the skin. If any irritation or allergic reaction occurs, do not use the product and consider consulting a dermatologist.
Documentation:
Note the results of the patch test, including any reactions or lack thereof. Keep a record of the product tested and the date of the patch test for future reference.
Post-Test Care:
Avoid using other new skincare product's on the test area until it has fully healed.
Please Note: A patch test is intended to identify initial irritation reactions to the product's and does not guarantee the same results when applied to other areas of the body, including the face, or after prolonged use. It does not consider any underlying conditions and should not be used to diagnose other skin issues.
